RICHARD WOLERY Obituary

Richard Charles Wolery entered eternal rest, surrounded by family in his home, on April 24, 2022 in El Centro, California due to complications of leukemia. Rick was born on September 21, 1951 to Elvyn and Eileen Wolery in Turner, Montana. His legacy is carried on by his wife, Elia Anaya Wolery and their daughters, Angela Wolery, Kristina Wolery, and Catherine Wolery Velazquez (Roger), son, Joshua Wolery, and granddaughters, Addison and Olivia Garcia; as well as his siblings in Montana; Ronald Wolery, Darryl Wolery (Ruth), Loren Wolery (Linda), and Gail Kantorowicz (Monty). Rick is preceded in death by his father, Elvyn Wolery and mother, Eileen Wolery.
Rick moved to El Centro in 1971 to work at El Toro Land & Cattle where he dedicated 47 years of service and met the love of his life, Elia. He was a selfless husband, loving and supportive father, and the best tata' his granddaughters could ask for. Rick served as a prayer group leader and Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Calexico and a Eucharistic Minister at St. Marys Parish in El Centro. He was chairman of the California Beef Council and participated in 4H and FFA auctions. When Rick wasn't working hard for his family or spending time with his wife and children, he was hosting and cooking for family gatherings, helping Elia with her garden projects, or traveling to Montana to visit family. Rick loved old western country music and to listen to Elia practice her music for Saturday night mass.
Family and friends are invited to attend his service at St. Marys Catholic Church on Friday, June 10th, 2022. Rosary will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a mass following at 11:30 a.m. Graveside service will take place after the mass at Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro followed by a reception to celebrate his life at St. Marys Catholic Church Parish Center. In lieu of flowers, Rick would have greatly appreciated donations to the American Cancer Society in his honor.

Ricky was our Hero and is still.
Never surrendering to his pains.
He had courage, he lived the most his body would allow, and even then, kept looking ahead; because he loved his family it gave him the strength to live and live, knowing it would be God's will to give Ricky his last breath.
Divine Providence took Ricky, Our brother in law, to Heaven with Angels at his side.

Rick was such a great man and such a gentlman, he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
