RODOLFO CERDA Obituary

Rodolfo "Rudy" Cerda, aka "El Toro" to his friends, age 63, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. He was born on January 19, 1961, in Mexicali, BC, to Rodolfo and Maria (Munoz) Cerda. He was raised in Calexico, CA. He married his sweetheart, Graciela "Grace" (Moreno) Cerda, and together they had three children, Rudy Cerda, Stephanie Cerda, and Deborah "Debbie" Roxana Cerda.
He enjoyed grilling, going to the canal with his dog Rolo, and watching Western movies. He followed politics and loved history. His happy place was the outdoors and working on his yard.
He is survived by his wife, Grace Cerda; son and daughter, Rudy Cerda (Maricela Cerda), and Debbie Cerda; grandchildren, Jocelyn Nadine Cerda, Isabel Iliana Mendiola, and Daniel Alexander Mendiola; his mother, Maria M. Cerda; brother, Lorenzo "Lencho" Cerda (Aide Cerda); sisters, Patricia "Patty" (Cerda) Sherman, Maria Magdalena "Malena" (Cerda) Rivera, Estela (Cerda) Carrillo, aka "la flaca" to her friends, Adriana "Diana" (Cerda) Tornero, and Beatriz "Betty" (Cerda) Uribe; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rodolfo Cerda, and daughter, Stephanie (Cerda) Mendiola.
Services will be held on March 22, 2024, at Garden of Eden in El Centro, CA, from 1-5 PM, and March 23, 2024, Celebration of Life Mass will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 560 Maple Ave., Holtville, CA, at 11 AM.
Rudy will be forever loved and missed.
