It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Socorro Galindo Halcon on May 28, 2021. Socorro was born October 5, 1935 to Imperial Valley pioneer dairy farmers, Joe and Josefina Galindo and attended schools in Imperial and Imperial Valley College. She worked as a Superior Court Clerk in Imperial County and was an active member of the Imperial County Employees Association and the Pilot Club. Socorro was president of the Legal Secretaries of Imperial County and an active member for many years. She married Ernest Halcon, Narcotic Task Force Commander, on May 31, 1975. She lived in San Diego most of her married life, was an active member of St. Therese Catholic Church, and she enjoyed spending time with her family, as well as her many lifelong friends. Ernie and Socorro enjoyed traveling to various parts of Europe, Mexico and Hawaii. Socorro was preceded in death by her husband, Ernie; parents; brothers, Barry, Eddie and Tony; sisters, Mary Carmen and Carlota. She is survived by her brothers, Joe Ray (Liz) and Julio (Gloria); sisters, Dorothy Wolf and Yolanda Lorensen; as well as her 3 step-sons, Ernie, Michael and Marc Halcon. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews who adored her. She was a kind and gentle soul, with a deep devotion to our Lord and Blessed Mother, and we will miss her loving, joyful and generous spirit. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday July 30, 2021 at St. Therese Parish 6016 Camino Rico, San Diego 92120. Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m., followed by mass at 11 a.m. The family would like to thank Hospice of San Diego, Junior's Cafe, her nieces and nephews and Carmen and Rick Frech who truly gave of their time and devotion in her last year and a half of illness. For the many prayers from family, friends, the Carmelite Sisters of San Diego, and St. Mary's Shining Silver Ladies of El Centro, we thank you all.
