STEVE WILLS Obituary

Steve was born in Brawley, California and graduated with the class of 1974 from BUHS where he was known as the "Gentle Giant". He worked as a CHP officer in El Centro and later retired from the Merced office after 30 years of service. Steve's coworkers remember him for his calm and professional demeanor and they had tremendous respect for him. In 1998, Steve earned the Medal of Valor for his bravery with the CHP. He was very active in the community; always taking any opportunity to help youth in need. He coached wrestling, softball, and loved his time as a 4-H leader for many years. Steve enjoyed raising sheep and in 2004 settled in Denair, CA where he and his wife, Tina, purchased a 25 acre ranch and cared for over 100 sheep. Steve is survived by his wife, Tina Wills; children, Scott Wills, Shanna Fitzurka, Stephanie Wall, Sharon Moore, Stacey Wills, and Stevie Wills; sisters, Merry Jo Chavarria and Barbara Porter; grandchildren, Makenzie Miguel, Porter Fitzurka, Amanda Wills and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Community Hospice 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto, CA 95356. A celebration of Steve's life will be held at a later date in August. So very sorry to hear of the passing of fellow 1974 graduate. Steve was always so very kind and enjoyed his friendship as we went through our high school years and some after graduation, still staying in touch for awhile. Prayers for his family.

My condolences to Steves family for this great loss. Steve was a great person. He was kind and always ready to help anyone in need. I had the pleasure of meeting him in high school while we participated together in track and field. I have fond memories of our time together in Track. I also remember him excelling in football and wrestling. May Steve Rest In Peace.
