Van Baker was born August 27, 1955 in Walla Wall, Wa and passed away September 25, 2021 in Brawley, CA surrounded by his loving family.
Van was a kind and loving husband, father, friend, and teacher. He enjoyed going the extra mile for family and students and for anyone who crossed his path in life.
He was a well respected Special Education teacher for more than 25 years and taugh at Barbara Worth Jr High for 23 of those years. His students remember him for his love, patience, and extra care. He even kept the grass green on their play area by watering it himself. People would pass by the school and see Mr. Baker outside with his students having a good time and enjoying the fresh air.
Van is survived by his wife of 41 years, Teresa Baker and their daughter, Jordan. He will be remembered for his great smile and his loving heart. He led a joy filled life and shared that joy daily with those around him. He will be greatly missed.
There will be a celebration of Van's life on Thursday October 21st at 5pm at the Hidalgo Hall in Brawley, CA.
