WALTER H. LOCHER
Feb. 18, 1931 - Aug. 18, 2009
Wally was born to Walter and Hedvig Locher in El Centro, CA. After being raised in the Imperial Valley, Wally joined the Navy in 1952 and married Normalee Gilbert and had 8 children. After returning home to the Imperial Valley, he and his brother Werner ran a hay trucking business. Wally met the love of his life, Mona Randolph in 1964 and were married in 1968. Wally and Mona shared a wonderful life together raising their children, grandchildren, Keri Tennison, Teri Tennison, and Christy Rosanski and great-grandchildren, Kendra Wood, Evan and Tyson Rivers, Rocky and Jake Huff, Jimmy, Tom Tom and Sadie Sue Rosanski.
Wally retired from Legakes Ranches in 1993. When football season was over, Wally decided he better find something to do, so he began driving hay trucks with his two nephews, Johnny and Bobby Locher. For the last 45 years June Lake has been a yearly vacation destination. All of the children, grandchildren, great-grandchil- dren, nieces and nephews have many fond memories of their summer trips taken with Grandpa and Grandma.
Wally enjoyed his morning briefing at the local coffee shop, spending time with his family, and tending to his gardens. Wally was always willing to lend a hand to a neighbor and help in any way. His compassionate, hard working nature was known by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and by those whose lives were touched by him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Hedvig Locher; children, Charlott Caggaino and Mark Locher; son-in-law, Jimmy Tennison; grandchildren, Jimmy and Wally Tennison; and siblings, Werner Locher, Hidie Locher, and May Sotello.
Walter is survived by his wife, Mona Locher; children, Paul Locher (Cheryl), Jeannette Hofmen Locher (Andy), Wendy Duncan (John), Tina Locher-Torres (Steve), Heidi Locher (Robert), and Melissa Locher (Bob); sisters, Liz Locher, Marget Hoyle, Fay Spriz, Ann Hanson and Eddie Locher; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 29 at 12 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, located at 515 W. Aten Road in Imperial. Matt Johnson will conduct the services. Immediately following the services a reception will be held at Imperial Valley Swiss Club, 1585 E. Worthington Rd., in Holtville.

Did you stand in the light of His amazing grace? Did you raise your hands to worship? Did you fall to your knees in His presence? Did you bask in His glory? Did you lift your voice in praise? Did you even say anything at all? Grandpa did you hear my voice beside your bed? Did you hear me in your ear? Did you? Grandpa Ive told them to stop the earth from spinning,Ive told them but no one will. They go about their busy lives not knowing my world has stoped. Tuesday was the last day of my week and Wednesdays never come. and everyone goes on about there lives their calender changing months their carousal not stopping around and around they go. the winds still blow the seas still shift and the rain still falls from the sky. my world has been taken off it axales and shaken like a water globe,Iam sorry Iam so sorry for not being there beside you. you never left our side when we need you. feel like that little girl who use to walk beside you walking hand in hand with knowing you held the answers. I Love You. Rocky wants to know why the Lord keeps taking people that he loves? Jake says he just wants you to come home hes tiered of missing everyone. They don't understand, and I don't have an answer. We try to stay strong and not break down so Grandma wont worry. But her world, her carousal, and her Tuesday stands still with the rest of ours.

Aunt Mona
I am so sorry about Uncle Wally, he will be missed by many. I rember how nice he always was to 'Kenny's Little Girl" thats what he alawys called me, even when I was all grown up. I always knew him as "Uncle Wally" and although I am not a blood relative you would never know it by the way he treated me, he always made me feel like I belonged and was family. He and my dad were good friends from way back in the day, and my dad truly respected him both as a man and in business. I will keep you and your family in my prayers, I love you Aunt Mona...

Just received word that Wally had passed on. Me and my brothers, Carl,
Jack and Charley Gray knew the Locher family way back in the late forties and early fifties. As kids living in the country around Mt Signal we often saw each other. Werner was sort of a "big brother" to me when I started to High School. He was there when I joined the FFA and the wrestling team at Central Union High. I will always remember the Locher boys as friendly, easy going and very helpful. Even though I have not seen or spoken to them in over 50 years, I will miss them in my memories. I pray the best for the survivors of each of them.

My sympathy to all the Lochers. Wally will be missed by all who have ever come in contact with him, he always had a smile or joke for you. Sorry we didn't see more of each other over the years, we could use more people like him in our lives.

Mona and family, We are so sorry to hear about Wally. We always thought about him and you since we moved here to Tucson.
So many times we went to the Valley but not enough time to visit everyone. My youngest always remember the times we use to visit you and Wally.
Again,, we are so sad, we are thinking of you and family.

Mona and Family,
My deepest warmest thoughts and love to you all and my sorrow for the kindest man I have ever met. I miss seeing you, Mona, and Wally at the book study when we would meet at the Aguilars and the dishes you prepared for the congregation. I love you very much Mona and Jehovah will sustain you in your time of grieving. If you need anything or anyone to talk to ... I am here for you...760 562 4907

Aunt Mona:
Even though I can't be there with you, please know you are in my thoughts daily. Everyone lost a very special person with the passing of Uncle Wally. He was one of the hardest working people I have ever known and it was a great pleasure to be a part of your family. I just remember all the good times at your home. I love you Aunt Mona and miss all you guys.
