Oscar Pulis Obituary

Oscar Joe Pulis March 21, 1938 - March 20, 2025 Oscar Joe Pulis was born to Theodore Ruben and Artie Lucille (Stevens) Pulis on March 21, 1938 in Weatherford, Oklahoma and departed this life in Wichita Falls on March 20, 2025 at the age of 86 years.

Oscar grew up in Temple, Oklahoma graduating from THS in 1954. He then moved to Norman, Oklahoma where two sons, Kim and Greg were born. From there he moved his family to Aledo and while working as a butcher for Safeway he was transferred to Graham. He purchased a farm in Loving where he farmed, raised cattle and owned a trucking company. He was a deacon at Loving Baptist Church and became a founder/deacon at Plum Grove Baptist Church.

Oscar married Patricia Louise Evans and they settled in Jacksboro to combine their families. In 1987, they opened the Corner Donut Shop where they made donuts for 38 years. Lots of elementary age boys and girls went on field trips to watch the donuts being made and many cups of coffee and stories were told through the years.

Oscar loved his family and friends and he never met a stranger or passed up an opportunity to do some swapping.

He was preceded in death by his parents, T.R. and Artie Pulis; and four siblings, Ada Fern Cain, Nelda Tidwell, Bill Pulis and Ruben Pulis.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia of the home; sons, Kim Pulis and Kelly of San Antonio, Greg Pulis and Redonna of Jacksboro, Terry Tynes and Karen of Houston, Alabama, and Tony Moore and Denise of Naugatuck, Connecicut; daughter, Cathy Howard and Gary of Weatherford; 20 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great grandchildren; his siblings, Wanda Froese of Craig, Colorado, and Carolyn King of Walters, Oklahoma; his lap dog, "Papoose"; hunting buddies, "Tim" and "Doomer"; as well as many relatives and lots of friends.
