Richard DeBoe Obituary

Richard DeBoe, 73, of Jackson, Michigan passed away Saturday, November 15 following heart surgery at the University of Michigan hospital. A longtime resident of Jackson, Rich grew up in the Toledo, Ohio area. He was the son of Homer "Jack" and Dorothy DeBoe, and the youngest of four siblings. He worked as an electrical engineer and loved designing, building and fixing machines of all sorts throughout his life.
He was a lifelong nature lover and avid bike-rider. He loved animals, especially the many cats he pampered. He was musically gifted developing into a skilled and creative rock guitarist from age 13. He played guitar and bass his whole life, arranging songs and writing original songs as well. He loved gardening and weather-watching, often capturing photos of weather events.
Rich very much enjoyed forming close friendships with many people and will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all of them. He was generous with his time and technical skills, as well as his wit and humor. He was kind, loyal and good-hearted. At the end of his life, he was a devoted caregiver to both his parents and managed the farm that has been in the family for four generations.
Rich is survived by his mother, Dorothy, his sisters Marty McCall and Reba Devine, nephews Leo DeBoe and Max McCall, nieces Vanessa Oklejas and Molly DeBoe, grandnephew Thomas Moision, and grandniece Deliah DeBoe-Rhineberger.

A lifelong friend. Always enjoyed listening to him play his guitar. He was able to make me laugh with his great sense of humor. My heartfelt condolences to Dorothy, Marty and Reba.
