Lois Lane Gayle (Gayle) Kruschwitz Lois Gayle Kruschwitz, 81 years old, passed away peacefully July 18, 2024 at her home in Boulder, Colorado, surrounded by family. She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Stan Kruschwitz, their daughter, Moana Kruschwitz, grand-children, Viola and Hobbes Walker, and her sister and brother-in-law, Mary Alison and Joe Prihoda. Born to Alison Dill Gayle, Jr. and Lane Gayle on January 2, 1943 in Edna, Texas. She earned a BS and MS in marine biology from the University of Hawaii Manoa and her PhD in zoology in 1972 from The University of Nebraska in Lincoln. She was a beloved professor emeritus at the Oklahoma City University where she taught biology and environmental science in the classroom and in outdoor classroom settings in Hawaii, Belize and the Galapagos Islands. She is missed dearly. A Memorial Service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Edna on Friday 8/9/24 at 2p.
