Billy Rolison Obituary
Mr. Billy Wayne Rolison, age 73 of Jackson, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family in the comfort of his home on Friday evening, May 29, 2015.
Billy Wayne was born on November 13, 1941 in Hardeman County, TN to the late Charles Perry "C.P." and Lessie Swinford Rolison. He was a graduate of South Side High School and worked for the Bemis Cotton Mill. He was the co-owner of The Flower Patch with his wife Glenda. Billy Wayne is a member of the Rockabilly Hall of Fame and the International Rockabilly Hall of Fame. He also had two record releases.
In addition to his parents, Billy Wayne was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Janie Thomason, Vernon Rolison, Alma Rogers, Perry Rolison, Joe D. Rolison, and C.P. Rolison, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Glenda Turner Rolison; daughter, Terrie Rolison Hopper (Keith); son, Gary Rolison (Carol Ann); grandchildren, Kristin Pledge (David), Lindsey Hopper, Austin Rolison and Ryan Rolison; two great-grandchildren, Elliott Pledge and Murray Pledge; brother, James Earl Rolison (Carolyn); sisters-in-law, Irene Rolison and Cecile Rolison; several neices and nephews.
Funeral services for Billy Wayne will be conducted on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 11 a.m., in the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons, with Bro. Bruce Little and James Earl Rolison officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
Active Pallbearers to serve will be David Pledge, Steve Rolison, Bill Turner, Wes Turner, Van Leach and Larry Gardner.
Honorary Pallbearers will be his music friends and band members, Hershel Collins, Troy Bridges, Howard Hale, Charles Jones, Bobby Mayo, Kenny Vernon, Billy Jo Butler, Neil Bennett, Gaston Wayne Collins and Little David Wilkins.
The family wishes to thank Judy, Melissa, Beverly, Dr. Kippy Miller and Hospice of West Tennessee for the love and care they have given to Billy Wayne.
Contributions in Billy Wayne's memory may be directed to the Rock-A-Billy Wayne Music Scholarship Fund, c/o The Bank of Jackson, 420 Oil Well Rd., Jackson, TN 38305.

All the rock-a-billy community want to send you sincere condolences for the lost of your beloved one. We lost a talented artist and a wonderful friend. Don't forget to remember music is a powerful tool to make people gathering and enjoying time together. Music is a very important thing that can change a life, that can save a life, that can give life! Thanks to Billy to have bring joys in our live. We will take care of the musical legacy and Billy's recording will be hear as long as cats will keep wearing blue suede shoes and cuffed blue jeans from Hill Crest Drive to Sidney, Australia.
