Emmett Griggs Obituary
Griggs II
Emmett Lee Griggs II passed away on the 26th of November, 2012. He was born on the 8th of December, 1968 in Jackson, TN.
Lee graduated from Franklin Road Academy and received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Economics from Vanderbilt University. He began his career as a software developer at TCS Management Group (later acquired by Aspect), where he contributed significantly to the development of its flagship workforce management software product for ten years. He then worked for other software companies, followed by C3 Consulting, LLC, where he worked for the last five years. His ability to learn new software languages and technical tools, and to solve difficult business and technical problems was extraordinary. He will be greatly missed by all of the colleagues he worked with in his career.
Mr. Griggs is preceded in death by his brother, James Harrison Griggs.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Byrne Griggs; daughter, Saoirse Alice Griggs; parents, Jere and Sally Griggs; mother-in-law, Alice Byrne; father-in-law, Philip Byrne; sister-in-law, Louise; brother-in-law, Gary; uncle, Dr. C.M. Kerley and aunts, Harrison Cotham and Betty Chase.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from four o'clock in the afternoon until six o'clock in the evening on Thursday, the 29th of November, at St. Henry Catholic Church. There will be a rosary service to follow at six o'clock at the church.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that contributions be directed to St. Henry Catholic School, Nashville, TN; CCFA, 386 Park Ave. South, 17th floor, New York, NY 10016; or the charity of one's choice.
The Funeral Mass will be conducted at two o'clock Friday, the 30th of November at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Humboldt, TN, with Rev. John Sims Baker and Rev. Stephen Gideon officiating. Burial to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will also be held two hours prior to the service at the church on Friday.

My heart aches for you. There can be nothing worse than losing a child. I am Helen Oliver's daughter (Mary Ellen) from Milan. We knew you from Sacred Heart. Your son was born the year we were married. We always were so fond of you two. Mom passed away in 2006 at the age of 90, and we were so fortunate to have had her that long.
You are in my prayers.

I will always remember Lee as someone who knew the answer to whatever problem we were facing. If he didn't know off the top of his head, he would return with it soon after doing some research. I am so sorry for your loss and we will miss Lee dearly.

Lee was my neighbor growing up & I used to drive him to school. I teased him later that I couldn't believe his parents let him ride with me! It was such a delight to meet his beautiful bride, Lisa, & adorable daughter, Saoirse. They are such a lovely family. My heart breaks for this family that has experienced so much grief. May they be uplifted supernatually by the Lord during this time of pain & suffering. Peace & blessings.
