George Aday Obituary

Funeral services for George L. Aday 80 will be Sunday June 20 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Norman Culpepper and Rev. Jimmy Breedlove. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery. Mr. Aday died early Friday at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. He was born in Louisville Mississippi son of the late Eugene and Mary Ida Fanning Aday and moved to Jackson with this family at an early age. He received his education in the local schools and then served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Aday was a retired employee of the former Kelly Foods retiring in 1986 following 27 years of service. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. Mr. Aday was a Christian man who lived all his life with integrity and character and was a good provider devoted and loving husband father and grandparent. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 58 years Mrs. Robbie Lee Taylor Aday; a son Marcus Aday and wife Rhonda of Jackson; four daughters Glenda Long and Vicki Lindsey both of Jackson Katrina Porch and husband Bert of Brownsville and Cynthia Long and husband Pat of Henderson; grandchildren Troy Sisson Carey Chris Long Heather Long Clint Lindsey John Lindsey Lisa Jason Porch Damon Porch Buffy Sasha Long Ashlee Long and Gari Lindsey; great grandchildren Chandler and Carli Sisson Collin Cristen and Cadye Long Zoey Trent Andrew Ryan Christian Trey Will and Taylor Lindsey and Madison Sisco. He was preceded in death by a daughter Shelley Dianne Aday. The family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Memphis Tennessee. Mr. Aday's grandsons will serve as pallbearers for the service. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home today from 5 to 8 p.m. Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home 731-424-2424
