James Ross Obituary

James Allen "Toby" Ross, Sr.

Jackson - James Allen "Toby" Ross Sr. of Jackson, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021, in Jackson.

He was born on March 21, 1932 to William Curtis Ross and Hester Vaughn Enochs of Lexington, Tennessee. He was a carpenter, builder, land developer, exceptional father, and husband of the late Dora Jane Wicks Ross. Also preceding him were his brothers, Edwin Curtis Ross Jr., William H. "Buddy" Ross, his sister Norma Jo Patterson and brother-in-law Aubrey Justin "Pat" Patterson.

Mr. Ross is survived by his daughter, Melanie Lynn Ross of Franklin, Tennessee and son James Allen Ross Jr. of Memphis and Jackson, Tennessee.

The family has chosen to have a private graveside service and to postpone any visitation or memorial service until a later date, with high regards for the health and safety of friends and loved ones that would like to be present. A second announcement will be printed when those plans are made.

In lieu of flowers, Toby requested that memorial donations be made to Youth Town of Tennessee, The First United Methodist Church of Jackson, Madison County division of American Cancer Society, or another charity of the donor's choice.
