Jimmy Hendrick Obituary

Jimmy Dale Hendrick

Jackson - Jimmy Dale Hendrick, age 79, went to his forever home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

He was born in Temple, TX, on January 5, 1942, the son of the late Ollie and Hildegard Hagameister Hendrick. Jim is a graduate of the University of Texas in Austin.

Jim is known to all as the perfect gentleman with a lively smile. He spread goodness everywhere he went. He was always the man behind the scenes, making sure everything and everyone were taken care of with no concern of acknowledgment or praise. Jim was an avid chef and grill master. He enjoyed working for Imperial Furnishing (Waco, TX) and traveling. He was a natural golfer, runner, and fisherman. Jim loved the Women of Hope ministry and served as the president of the executive board.

He is survived by his wife, Marcie Hodge Hendrick; two sons, James Hendrick (Laura) of New York and Ty Hendrick (Amanda) of Texas; two daughters, Susan Cushman (Chuck) of Montana, and Shelly Evans of Alabama; a sister, Sue Shade (Pat) of Arkansas; sisters-in-law, Peggy Jones, Joyce Young (David), and Kay Davis (Mike) all of Tennessee; seven grandchildren, Jessica (Graham), Josh (Allysa), Zoe, Aubrey, Christian (Martin), Jarrett (Bailee), and Kade; ten great-grandchildren, Malachi, Scout, Oaklee, Haven, Eowyn, Estellise, Esther, Lily, Julian, and Cooper.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, father and mother-in-law, Harold and Katherine Hodge and brothers-in-law, Victor Hodge and Doug Jones.

SERVICES: A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Hope Recovery Church, 1925 Highway 18, Medon, TN, with Lisa Clements reading the eulogy, Pastor Mike Davis leading prayer and scripture, and Rev. Jim and I have been business associates for 15 years. He was a friend first though. He always believed he was second. Always thinking of others first and wanted to make sure that whoever he was dealing with at the time was taken care of. Whether this was one of his church customers or someone like me who helped him with his customers. I renovated a lot of church pews for Jim, he was always fair and made sure that I had what I needed to complete the jobs. Even our last job together just a couple of weeks ago I had an issue with not having enough foam to complete the job Memphis. I called Jim to let him know and without hesitation he volunteered to drive all the way to my shop in Hopkinsville Ky from Jackson and back to Memphis the next day to pick up the foam needed. That is the type of person he was (no hesitation to help his fellow man). I am going miss him tremendously. God bless him and his family.
