Jonathan Roberts Obituary
Franklin - Jonathan Edward Roberts, 37, of Franklin, TN, died peacefully on May 21, 2018, of natural causes.
Jon was born June 26, 1980, to Donna Wohlford and Jimmy Roberts and grew up in Lexington, Tennessee. He graduated from Tennessee High School in Bristol,TN and earned a B.S. in Finance, and Accounting, from the University of Tennessee and a Juris Doctor from the Appalachian School of Law. Jon practiced law throughout East Tennessee, with a focus on defense law. He was a certified death penalty attorney and was recognized in 2014 as Top 40 under 40 by National Trial Lawyers Top 100. He was a volunteer for Best Buddies and a member of the Rotary Club. He enjoyed fishing, backpacking, and golf.
Jon recently married Sarah Richie of Ellisville, Mississippi, and Memphis. They shared many joyful times together and liked to travel, cook, and spend time with their family, friends, and dogs.
Jon is survived by his wife Sarah, his parents Donna Roberts Wohlford of Bristol,Tn., his father and step-mother; Jimmy and Jeannie Roberts of Wildersville, and aunts; Sylvia (Michael) Stone of Lexington and Gail (Robert) Walker of Wildersville. He was preceded in death by his step-father Paul Wohlford and grandparents James and Thelma Roberts and Eddie and Edna Wallace.
Funeral services will be Thursday May 24 at 2PM at Reeds Chapel with burial to follow in the Jones Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday 10AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers family requests memorials be made to St. Jude at www.stjude.org/give.html or Best Buddies of Tennessee, Memphis Chapter. www.bestbuddies.org/Tennessee/donate-locally/.
