Travis Maness Obituary

Services for Mrs. Travis G. Maness 87 will be at 11:00 AM Monday August 18 2005 at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with Dr. Maurice Hollingsworth and Rev. Lonnie Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery. Mrs. Maness died Friday August 12 2005 at Elmcroft Assisted Living. She was born in Chester County and was the last of eleven children born to Tom Holmes and Vicey Holmes. She worked for Hancock Fabrics for twenty years; and later retired from Belk where she was a Sales Associate with more than twenty years of service. She had been an active member of West Jackson Baptist Church for more than sixty years and was a former Sunday School teacher. Mrs. Maness was the widow of Ellis Maness who preceded her in death in 1972. Survivors include two daughters and their husbands Norma and Billy Futrell of Jackson TN and Becky and Bobby Haynie of Memphis TN; four grandchildren Ricky Donna Futrell Teresa Bill Rosson and Chuck Christy Futrell all of Jackson and Vivian Ken Jones of Memphis. In 2003 she was preceded in death by another grandson Mark Haynie. She also leaves eight great-grandchildren Chrissy Futrell Abby Futrell Lynsie Rosson Amber Futrell Will Futrell Caroline Jones Marshall Jones and Hannah Futrell. Casketbearers to serve are Charles Aldrich Ricky Futrell Will Futrell Chuck Futrell Ken Jones and Bill Rosson. Memorials may be directed to the Building Fund at West Jackson Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons today from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel 731-427-5555
