FRANCES REBECCA REESE

Frances Rebecca Reese Miss Becky died August 5, 2013 at her home in Prattville, Al, where she has lived for 16 months. She lived in Marianna 13 years and in Greenwood 46 years. Frances Rebecca was born to Walter and Maude Shivel in Hendersonville, TN., August 31, 1922. She joined Brothers George, Bill and Jim, all of whom are deceased. They were all volunteers in WWII. She was baptized when she was 12 and began teaching a children's Bible class in the Church Of Christ when she was 16 and continued teaching children and ladies until she was about 80. She was educated in the public schools at Hendersonville and Galla-tin, TN. She graduated from David Lipscomb College in Nashville in 1942. She worked for the Selective Service System until she married Claude Reese November 2, 1945. He survives. She had four daughters. Claudia died of cancer December 10, 2002. Becky is survived by Rebecca Lee Holton who has a son, Travis. He and his wife, Susan, and son, Lee, live in Wewahitchka, FL. Becky also has a daughter, Erin Rebecca. Erin and her husband, Tim Meade, have two daughters, Allison Rebecca and Carrington Reese. They live near Becky Lee in Prattville, AL. Priscilla Duva and her husband, Tony, live in Roswell, GA. Rachel Reese and her husband, Dale Palmer, live in the Historic District of Asheville, NC. Miss Becky is also survived by one nephew and four nieces. While living in Jackson County, she was an active leader in Girl Scouts. She always attended PTA meetings. She was a member of the Marianna Garden Club and was its President for a while. She was a charter member of the historic society. A memorial service will be held at the Caverns Road Church Of Christ Sunday, August 11, 2013at 2:00 p.m. A visitation period will follow. She has given her body to medical science. No flowers please.
