Bryan James Files, 54

Bryan James Files, 54, of West Lafayette, passed away at 7:10 am, Saturday, October 17, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born November 25, 1960 in Schenectady, New York, to the late Patricia (Culhane) and Wilmer Files. Bryan graduated from Jefferson High School and served honorably in the United States Army. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and was a butcher for twenty years, working at Marsh, Kroger, Pay-Less, Buetler Meat Processing and D&R Market. He loved talking on the CB radio, enjoyed working with his hands, and was a motorcycle enthusiast.

He married Cheryl Howe on January 14, 2000 in Lafayette and she survives.

Surviving with his wife are a daughter: Amanda (Jose) Gutierrez of West Lafayette, a son: David Files of South Bend, two stepsons: Dustin Bowers of Lafayette, Chad Bowers of West Lafayette and a stepdaughter: Megan Bowers of Lafayette. Also surviving are a sister: Christine Files of Smithville Texas, and seven grandchildren: Alicia, Emily, Alexis, Issac, Joe, Catalina, and Haley.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. with the funeral service at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Hippensteel Funeral Home. The funeral service will be officiated by Reverend Dave Nance and followed by Military Honors.
