Juanita Scott Obituary
Juanita F. "Pete" Brehmer Scott, 85, of Delphi, died Wednesday morning, Jan. 18, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center, Delphi. She had been a resident there for 21 months, and in failing health. She was born Sept. 14, 1926, in Bloomington, IN, to the late James and Osie Helton Herbin. Her marriage was to G. Marvin Brehmer in Delphi, on June 28, 1947, and he preceded her in death on March 26, 1984. She graduated from Monticello High School in 1944. She was a clerk at the former Wynkoop Drug Store, Delphi, for 27 years and a homemaker. She attended area Protestant churches, and was very devoted to her faith and good Lord. She was a member of the Gamma Gamma Nu Sorority, enjoyed cooking, baking, and attending her 3 sons' school and sporting events. Mom was truly an angel, who embraced the love of her boys' friends and their families. She had such a warmth and ever endearing passion for life and opened her heart and home to those who meant most to her. She never ever met a stranger. Her love will stay within our hearts forever. We all love you mom.
Surviving are 3 sons, Steve and Margy Brehmer of Palatine, IL, Brad and Becky Brehmer of Grand Junction, CO, and Doug Brehmer of Delphi; and 2 grandsons, Troy Brehmer of Palatine and Adam Brehmer of Chicago. Preceded in death by an infant brother, adult brother and sister.
Friends may call Sunday from 4-7pm at Abbott Funeral Home, Delphi. Service there Monday 10:30 a.m., Rev Zachary Rainey officiating, burial at Morning Heights Cemetery, Delphi. Dear Family, I worked with your mom at Wynkoop Pharmacy during my high school years, 60's. What a dear whe was! Always had a smile on her face and when I would see her it was like she was my best friend. She leaves behind great and fond memories. Sounds like she was a gift to her family! What a gift she is to heaven

I will always remember "Pete" from my time working at Wynkoop Pharmacy while in high school. She was a special lady, with a sense of humor like no other adult I knew at the time. I knew that her real name was Juanita, the same as my mother's, but when she married Robert Scott - the same name as my father- and became Juanita Scott, it seemed ironic. I know she will be missed by all her family and friends.
