Judy Schmidt Obituary
Judy married James W. "Jim" Schmidt on July 8, 1961 in Thorntown, IN and he preceded her in death on March 8, 2014. In addition, she is preceded in death by her daughter Susan M. Schmidt. She had worked as a receptionist for Dr. Perry and Dr. Challgren and had owned and operated Victoria's Attic. She enjoyed auctions, flea markets, and collecting and selling antiques. Judy was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a devoted and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Surviving are her children James M. Schmidt (wife, Robin) of Lafayette and Theresa Gellenbeck (husband, Steven) of West Point, sisters Barbara Stevens (husband, Don) and Shirley Martin (husband, Oakey), five grandchildren Vince, Matthew, Cassidy, Jacob Schmidt and Victoria S. Smith (fiancé, Josey) and one great-great-grandson Wyatt R. Chittick.
Funeral Service will take place at 10:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior, Friday, January 9, 2015 at Simplicity Funeral Care, 1608 Schuyler Ave., Lafayette. Interment will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Please share online condolences and memories at www.simplicity-funeralcare.com

I was so sorry to hear of Judy's untimely passing. She was an exceptional receptionist in our office for 19 years. Judy was always kind, gracious, and friendly, not only to myself and my staff, but especially to our patients. You have my deepest sympathy.
