He has served as the general manager for the Carmel Pups Travel Basketball Program and regularly served as a soccer and basketball coach and league commissioner for the Carmel Dads' Club recreational sports program. I´m so glad I got a reminder of Kevin in my email I was just thinking of Kevin yesterday as I got out my "GardenHouse" to clean from the winter and set back out on my landscaping stones. Kevin had given us a start from his landscaping bed of this prolific green perennial that blooms a white firework tail right around July 4th!! It has really spread over the years and is an annual reminder to us of that wonderful light Kevin Gartenhaus is!! Keep shining your light Kevin

We grieve with Kelly and the kids and the entire Gartenhaus family network over the sudden passing of Kevin.

I say network because Kevin made you feel like you were part of his family. He enjoyed bringing us up to date through the sharing of his life; speaking with such fondness of Kelly, his children Matthew, Zach, and Lauren, his parents, and Kelly's parents, his brother and sister-in-law, and his nephews. Kevin always had a kind word, and was genuinely interested in how family was doing.

It comes as no surprise he was so involved in community service. Service was Kevin's God-given gift. I don't think I ever saw him sit down as the host of a cookout we attended years ago. Having such a joy on his face while making sure everyone else's needs were met.

Today we mourn the loss of our golden friend. We pray that the God of all Comfort would bring comfort to his family during this difficult time.

I am saddened by Kevin's loss and my condolences to the Gartenhaus family.

Kevin was a role model for me growing up in West Lafayette. He was the kind of leader and great natured guy that I wanted to be like.

Later in life, I always enjoyed catching up with him and making him laugh. I know that he cared much about his family and giving back to the community.

May his memory be forever a blessing! And may we all be inspired to continue Kevin's work of community service and hold that warm smile that I will always remember that Kevin shined on others.
