Mary Bridges Obituary
Mary Jane J Bridges, 90, of Lafayette, died at 11:59 AM Friday, August 1, 2014 at St. Anthony Health Care. She was born March 13, 1924, in Staples, MN, to the late Francis and Cecilia Jaeger. She graduated from Staples High School in Minnesota and then went on to St. Alexis School of Nursing in Bismarck, North Dakota. She completed the four year program and worked as a registered nurse for over fifty years in Louisiana, Georgia, Florida and Indiana. She married James A Bridges in August 1948 and had 11 children, 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Mary Jane was a very devout and spiritual person and considered her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren her most precious gifts.
Surviving are her children, Janey Toleman (husband Randy) of Lafayette, Tim Bridges of Charlotte, NC, Kevin Bridges (wife Lara) of Atlanta, GA, Joe Bridges (wife Diane) of Snellville, GA, Brian Bridges (wife Kristin) of Columbus, IN. Also surviving are siblings Eileen O'Brien (husband James) of Fort Worth, TX, Rosemarie Hahn of Crystal, MN, Margaret Lavell (husband Frank) of Lancaster, PA, Frank Jaeger (wife Joyce) of Anoka, MN. She is preceded in death by James, her husband and six sons, Sean, Patrick, Jim, Mark, Bill and Peter, her parents, Francis and Cecilia Jaeger, and two brothers, Francis and Tom.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 AM Friday, August 8, 2014 at St. Thomas Aquinas in West Lafayette. In lieu of flowers, you may send donations to St. Elizabeth Hospice or St. Ann's Church and Shrine, both in Lafayette. You may sign the guestbook and leave memories by visiting www.soller-baker.com
