Michael Wilson Obituary
West Lafayette - Michael D. Wilson, 57 of West Lafayette, IN, formerly of Brook, IN, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2017. Mike was born February 14, 1961 in Brook, Indiana to the late Janice and David Wilson. He graduated from South Newton High School class of 1979 and from Ball State University class of 1983.
He married Kathi J. Anderson Wilson on September 3, 1983 in Brook, IN and she preceded him in death on February 21, 2013. Mike was the proud parent of two daughters, Valeri N. Marinakis, (husband, John), Washington, IL and Kristi B. Wilson, San Francisco, CA, and they survive. Also Surviving are 3 grandchildren, Kingston K. Marinakis, Madelyn N. Marinakis and Elizabeth J. Marinakis, 2 sisters, Gail MacIntyre, (husband, Richard) West Lafayette, IN and Becky A. Craig, (husband, Curt), Dayton, IN, Step-mother Judy Wilson, Brook, IN, and his companion, Luanne Watt, West Lafayette, IN, and several nieces and nephews.
Mike was a partner in Tri-Tech Construction, Heartland Excavating, and Wilson Crane for 30 years. Mike loved his family more than anything, always organizing family trips and planning adventures with his partner Luanne. He loved boating down at Lake Cumberland, skiing, snowmobiling, hunting, and teaching his grandkids how to ski. He enjoyed spending his weekends going to watch his grandson wrestle and granddaughter play softball in Washington, IL, where his daughter Valeri lives with her family. He picked up the travel bug from his wife Kathi and later traveled around the world on adventures with his daughter Kristi. He was a member of Faith Church, spent evenings mentoring the youth at Wednesday Night Kids of Faith and used his experience with the passing of his wife Kathi to help others in the church get through the trials that come with cancer, through Cancer Ministries. He attended the Sonrise Adult Bible Fellowship.
Visitation will be on Sunday, February 25, 2018, from 3:00 - 8:00 (CST) at the Brook United Methodist Church, Brook, IN, with funeral services on Monday, February 26, 2018 at the Church, with Rev Evan Guse and Pastor Rob Green officiating. Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery, Brook, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in his name to the Michael David Wilson memorial fund.
