Ralph "Dick" Atkinson, 78

Ralph "Dick" Atkinson, 78, of Anderson, formally of Remington, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital, Anderson, IN.

Dick was born July 30, 1936 in Marion, IN to the late Ralph and Bernice (Bowman) Atkinson.

He graduated from Marion High School in 1954. Dick also attended Ball State University.

His marriage was to Marilyn Clingaman on June 13, 1959 in Pontiac, MI. She survives.

He had many residences throughout his life including Elgin, IL; Syracuse, IN; Ft. Wayne, IN; Kentland, IN; Remington, IN; and Bartow, FL.

Dick was a member of the United Methodist Church of Remington and a former member of Kentland Rotary Club. Dick was a small business owner in Remington and a former sales rep. for Amoco Oil.

He enjoyed golfing, singing, and traveling in his motor home.

Surviving are sons, Kevin (wife: Tonya) Atkinson of Anderson; John (wife: Sharon) Atkinson of Madison, IN; Daughter Shari Cassler of Huntington, WV. Also surviving are grandchildren Tifini Tesky of Goodland; Britini (Josh) Morgan of Anderson; Kimberlee Edgell of Anderson; Stephanie (Michael) Tomarchio of Anderson; Jacob (Nicki) Atkinson of Indianapolis; Heather (Chris) Wilson of Shepherdsville, Kentucky; Joel Cassler of Indianapolis; Caleb Cassler of West Lafayette. Great grandchildren, Mikala Tesky, Alex Tesky, Destiny Morgan, Cheyanne Morgan, Brody Atkinson, Mason Atkinson, Morgan Wilson, Brianna Johnson, Nicole Atkinson, and David Atkinson.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. till time of service at 1 p.m. (EST), Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home, of Remington. Reverend Mary van Wijk to officiate. Interment to follow in Remington Cemetery

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Remington United Methodist Church.
