I met Randy from when his folks had a shoe store in Lowell, IN around 1983. They probably were one of the 1st stores around that had VANS. We landed up playing guitars together a few times with Mike Klassen. He was a very kind soul back then, I'm sure that continued throughout his life.

Jasmyn, Madison, Katia and I would like to express our deepest gratitude to all of you who shared your memories and of what knowing Randy meant to you. He was truly a GREAT man, and we were all blessed by his presence here on earth. Thank you to all who helped us over the past 5 years and especially during the extremely difficult last 5 months of his life when he fought with everything he had in him to stay with us. His family was his priority during his life, and he made sure we would be taken care of and surrounded by those who cared for him and us long after his passing. His passing has left an eternal void in our hearts. Randy's visitation provided healing and encouragement. Thank you to all who attended, sent cards, and have helped in countless ways during his fight and continue to do so after his passing. There has never been and never will be anyone else like him. He was the true love of my life, and the girls and I will never forget the lessons he taught us in all that he was. He was so strong, committed, curious and passionate. Thank you for helping us honor him. We were truly blessed to have him in our lives. Much love, Kelly, Jasmyn, Madison and Katia.

I didn't know Randy long, it also didn't take me long to realize that not many are made like Randy was.

Randy was a bright light and a great friend. I had the pleasure of usually sitting next to him because we were always in alphabetical order in class. He came to the rescue on Graduation Day and walked myself and Val McKinney down the procession line and he received an applause for having a girl on each arm. I will always remember the twinkle in his eyes and the smile he wore everyday! My condolences to your mom and dad and your wife and children. I know you are in a better place but you leave behind many heavy hearts! May you rest in peace!

Saddened to hear of Randy's untimely passing. Although it's been many years I hold a fond place in my heart, and gratitude for the life experiences he gave me. Nothing was mundane when Randy was involved. Peace to his family; I hope they find comfort in their shared memories.

I've only been w the City for 4 years, but Randy was one of my favorite people. After completing work in his area, we'd sit and talk for a few minutes about all kinds of things. He was a great worker with an outstanding work ethic. Someone who could always be counted on. We connected on many different things, especially politics and philosophy. I will miss him and his family will be in my prayers.

Randy was nothing short of an amazing person. I won't speak to all of the things he was to the others he touched in his life. I will, however, speak to what he was to me. As a young man growing up in this chaotic world we live in, Randy took me under his wing and was a mentor and such a giving friend. He taught me a set of skills that would be the foundation for my adult life, an honest trade that I could always use to feed my family and take care of the ones I love with. For this, I will be forever grateful and endebtited to this extraordinary man. There are 2 people in this world who had a work ethic on a level that I had never seen, and to this day have never seen again, Randy and my father. This world is surely a darker place now that these awe inspiring men are no longer with us. Along with all he taught me in working with my hands, he was so much more than that. I know from my interaction with Randy, that all the blood, sweat, and tears that he poured into his work were always done with his family in his heart and was always done to earn them a continually better and better life. He and I also shared a deep love of metal music - a soundtrack that paralleled Randy's high energy in everything he put his mind to. To his family, I would say, you have a hard working young man that is here and willing to help pick up on any projects that were always in Randy's wheelhouse in years passed. He left a legacy in me, and I'd love the oppotunity to put that legacy to work. I owe a huge debt to Randy, and only hope I can pay a small part of that back. All the love and sympathy in the world, LK.
