Robert C. Davies

Robert C. "Bob" Davies, 72, of Monticello, passed away at 2:56 a.m. on Thursday, December 25, 2014 at home. Born October 12, 1942 in Terre Haute, IN, he was the son of the late Chester and Lorene (Millikan) Davies.

Robert was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in the Bay of Pigs.

His marriage was to Elizabeth "Betty" Quick on December 28, 1968 in Indianapolis and she survives. He was a regional sales manager for the Pride Seed Company and farmed. Bob was a member of the Boyz Car Club and loved showing his '72 Chevelle. He enjoyed restoring cars together with his son, fishing, gardening, antiquing, and spending time with family and his grandkids. Bob loved to eat and enjoyed different types of cuisine. He was a Veterans Service Officer in Illinois.

Surviving with his wife is his son Brenden Scott Davies (wife, Amy) of Indianapolis, a sister Linda Cox (husband, James) of West Lafayette, a brother Jerry Davies (wife, Missy) of Lafayette, two grandchildren Brayden and Lauryn Davies of Indianapolis, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and his little girl dachshund, Schatzi.

Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Hippensteel Funeral Home with the service to follow at 6:30 p.m., Dr. James Cox officiating. A private family inurnment will take place at New Richmond Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Wreaths Across America for the Indiana Veterans Home, to make a donation, send your check to Lafayette Gold Star Mothers, P.O. Box 275 Lafayette, IN 47902. Bob was a very special man. He was always wearing a smile and ready to help wherever he could. He will be truly missed by all that knew him. Betty, Scott and family my heart goes out to you all . Keep the memories close they will help you get through this time of loss and the time of adjustment you all now face.
