Bob always uplifted the atmosphere when he arrived. I flew with him several times and my day was always brightened afterwards. He was definitely one of a kind. He will be missed.

I will truly miss Dr. Zink. He was the kindest professor at Purdue and the one who cared the most about his students. I learned so much from him and he would joke constantly about things that had math and conotations to the real world. He was someone that I will always remember in my life and often teach my own kids with his perspective and humor. We stayed in touch through the years via email and is truly one of the people in my life that has impacted me in a positive way. You will be greatly missed sir. :-(

Bob was my Obi-Wan Kenobi when I learned to fly! He is still one of the best flight instructors I have ever met, and he helped me build the right instincts on flying safely. I will always be thinking of you when I am in the air old friend.

I met Bob about 10 years ago. He taught a class across the hall from my office and he would often stop by with a smile and to say hello. We chatted often and he always brightened my day. Once Bob found out that I was Phi Beta Kappa, he pulled me into the Purdue chapter. I soon became a member of the leadership group.
I will definitely miss seeing you around the old MATH building!

I remember uncle Bob as being a very tall man with a unique voice. His laughter was beautiful. I am in awe of his accomplishments. I could have used a tutor in math but we lived too far away. His best accomplishments though are his my cousins David, Richard and Bill. God bless you and your families as you grieve your loss.
Love from your cousin Terry in Minnesota.

Sir Robert, as we called him, was an avid supporter of the free press in his longtime role on the Purdue Student Publishing Foundation board of directors, which is the corporate identity of The Purdue Exponent. We could always count on his wisdom, humor and motion to adjourn our monthly meetings.

Two students were talking during one of Bob's large classes. So he simply said, "I hope my lecture isn't disturbing your conversation."

I loved it when he would sing Happy Birthday to anyone at anytime. Strangers and friend alike. ❤
