Wow, I just read the news of Tommy's passing, so sad! Tom was a close friend growing up. I always admired him and his entire family. They were all first class. I lost track after moving south in 1974, but reconnected briefly in 2011 when back in Lafayette for a visit. Ican't believe he is gone. Rest in Peace Tommy. Your friend, Duffy.

I attended St Mary Grade School with Tom. He was a good guy who enjoyed sports and as I recall had more energy than probably anyone I knew. May the Lord receive his soul and grant him everlasting peace.

Very sorry to hear of the loss of a classmate who I found inspiring. He could walk with princes and paupers and treat all the same. His ready smile, and positive personality are my deepest memory of him. Proud to have been a teammate of yours Tommy. God bless your family during this time of sorrow. - Joe Sum

Tom was a tour de force in our Highland Park neighborhood as we grew up. Great personality and a natural leader.

When I'd run into him in later years back in Lafayette, he was always quick with a smile or a good story about the old days.

My condolences to the Mrs. Vaughan and Jack, Vint, and Jeannie.

RIP I did not know you Tom, but I'm sure you & my father know each other, for he was a Union man also at Alcoa & retired from there in Dec 2002 or Jan 2003. He very sadly went to heaven himself later that fall very unexpectedly, just days before his 60th birthday
You both died too young, but I'm sure you've shook hands once again in heaven God bless all his family!

My heart goes out, especially to Jeanne.... so wrong to have a child predecease you.

And, of course to Jack and Vint and Jeannie, my cousins. Lots of fond memories of frolic and fun when we were all young.

My thoughts and prayers are with you, one and all.

Tom was my next door neighbor growing up on Central. I always thought of Tom as a leader and one of the more level headed kids of the "Highland Gang". Great childhood memories! My sincerest sympathies for the Vaughn family.

I was very young when my parents and the Vaughan's were partners and friends . Tommy was like my big brother. Always nice to me and would take time to show me how to shoot pool. Vint and Jennie were all like my extended family. I will never forget. Rick Biddle
