Virginia Applegate Obituary
Lafayette - Virginia Belle Applegate, 89, passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018 in Lafayette, Indiana.
Virginia was born November 1, 1928 in Brazil, Indiana to the late Richard and Essie (Morris) Perry. She was a graduate of Brazil High School. She married James Applegate on April 28, 1949 in Brazil; he survives. Professionally, Virginia worked in various capacities over the years, but primarily had a long career at Lafayette Life Insurance Company for 21 years. She loved quilting and collectibles. Virginia was well known for her huge, yearly Halloween parties that few will forget. She enjoyed entertaining, especially for her family and close friends.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Linda Applegate of Lafayette and Deborah Washington of Lafayette; grandchildren, Mary Applegate and Heather Lank (husband: Tim); great-grandchildren, James, Brandi, and Jeffrey Pulley, Madison Anthrop, Austen Applegate and Paige Bol; great great-grandchildren, Anastasia June, Anthony Bradley, and Joseph Gunnar; niece, Barbara Anderson (husband: Jim); and nephew, Bill Kidwell (wife: Barbara).
Virginia is preceded in death by sisters, Mary Catherine Kidwell and Hazel Kidwell Carmichael McDermont; and brother, Riley Kidwell.
Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Friday, September 28, 2018 at Hippensteel Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the ceremony. Interment will follow at Meadow View Cemetery. In lieu of usual remembrances contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association.

I am sorry for your family's sadness due to her passing. I remember Mr. & Mrs. Applegate from Hope Chapel Presbyterian Church, my Great Aunt Bessie Jeffers was a member they are now joined together in the most heavenly place.
