William Deitrick Obituary
William (Bill) R. Deitrick III, age 80 of Lafayette, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2014. He was born February 24, 1934 to William Robert and Helen (Stansford) Deitrick, Jr. On September 29, 1956, he married Janice (Allee), who preceded him in death in 2008.
He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in the Korean War as a member of the 5th Air Force, 136th Fighter Bomber Wing 58th Group. After his discharge, he was a mechanic until he made roofing his career. He retired after 40 years with the Roofers Union Local 119. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends or in his garage finding things to repair.
Bill is survived by his sons, Mark (Cathy) and Wayne Deitrick; daughters, Linda (Daniel) Huey, Crystal (Joe) Deitrick, and Marjorie (Rob) Bohan all of Lafayette; and a niece who grew up in their home, Lisa (Tim) Galey of Attica; 16 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Carte of Lafayette; brothers, Edward "Butch" (Becky) Deitrick of Lafayette and Delbert "Skip" (Kayla) Deitrick of Florida. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa and a brother, Thomas Deitrick.
Memorial service to celebrate his life will be Saturday, October 25, 2014 @ 12pm, with visitation from 11am to time of service at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Mausoleum, West Lafayette. Family and friends are welcome to sign the online guest book at www.elmridgefuneralhome.com
