Alfred Ruete Obituary
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Viola and one daughter, Donna of the home.
Col. Ruete held the usual command and staff positions of a Marine Officer during his 31-year career.
He served in Korea and Vietnam. His last assignment was at Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, as assistant Chief of Staff for operations and training.
A memorial service will be held at noon, 12 p.m., Thursday, August 7, 2014, at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery Chapel with Father Ernest Ruede officiating, with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Infant of Prague Parish, 205 Chaney Avenue, Jacksonville, NC 28540.
Internet condolences may be left at Jonesfh.org and at JDNews.com.

My last name was "Garner" years ago when I knew the Reute family, as I was remarried in 1985, with a move to Charlotte in 2008. I recall so well all of the Reute family and liked all of them so much. We lived, at one point in the same neighborhood, and I would often see "the Colonel" out on daily walks. Viola and Donna were such nice ladies, and I truly send my warmest prayers and condolences to you both. I remember you as a lovely family. Most sincerely, Bea Oettinger
