Mildred Whitesell Obituary

Mildred L. Whitesell, 91, of Jacksonville, passed away Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at Premier Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born March 10, 1923, in High Point, she was a daughter of the late William Stamey and Elvia Baity Luck. She was a retired comptometrist for a drug wholesaler.
Surviving are her daughter, Joyce Lanier and husband Woody of Jacksonville; a sister, Marie L. Hockett of Asheboro; two grandchildren, Tim Lanier and wife Jaime of Sneads Ferry, Nick Lanier of Jacksonville; and a great-grandchild, Cooper Lanier of Sneads Ferry. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Herbert Paul Whitesell.
A private graveside service will be held at Randolph Memorial Park in Randleman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Continuum Home Care and Hospice, 3391 Henderson Drive, Jacksonville, NC 28546 or to the American Cancer Society, 2202 Wrightsville Ave., Wilmington, NC 28403.
