Barbara Jane Harriger

1932 - 2024

Barbara Jane Harriger, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 19, 2024 at the age of 91, in Hilton Head, S.C.

Born in Brookville in 1932, she was the daughter of Cearing and Emma Wiley.

She will be remembered as a dedicated wife, mother and friend, always doing whatever it took to see that those she loved shined. She loved her role in life and she was very good at it!

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Cearing and Emma Wiley; her sister, Martha Hopkins; and her husband, John Harriger.

Survivors include her sister, Norma Jones; daughter, Cindy (Chris) Delano; son, Tim (Sue) Harriger; grandchildren, Rachel, Nate, Sam and great-grandson, Theo.

Of all the many places she lived and traveled, Brookville was always special and always her home.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2024 at the McKinney – d'Argy Funeral Home, located at 345 Main Street in Brookville.

A brief funeral service will be held at 1 p.m.

Barbara will be buried at the Knoxville Mt. Pleasant Cemetery next to her husband John.
