Ruth Osborne Obituary

Ruth Shirley (Stewart) Osborne, age 84, of Brookville, Pa., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at the Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital in DuBois, Pa.

She was born on November 15, 1934, to the late William J. and Nellie Bly (Hepburn) Stewart in Punxsutawney, Pa. She graduated from Punxsutawney High School with the class of 1952. Ruth married her husband of almost 64 years, Bruce A. Osborne on August 8, 1954, who preceded her in death.

She worked at Wein's Clothing Store in Brookville, Pa., as well as Rollo which was in Reynoldsville, Pa.

God played a very active role in her life. She was known for working as a secretary for various churches. Ruth enjoyed being the pianist in the church. She was a very accomplished bowler and golfer throughout her life. She could be stoic and serious, but centered God in everything she did. When Ruth found something she wanted to do, she would fully embrace it until she perfected it. Above all she loved her family and friends.

Ruth is survived by four sons: Rodney A. (Susan) Osborne, Kevin L. Osborne, Ronald Lee (Mary Louise) Osborne, and David Scott (Valerie) Osborne; two granddaughters, Meghan (Chris) Teyssier, and Kacey; and four grandsons: Blake, Charlie, Nikolai, Hayden.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth is preceded in death by four siblings: Martha Elizabeth "Zib" Crawford, Margaret I. "Peg" Fennell, Norma Tackett, and William H. Stewart.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, December 7, 2018, from 5 – 8 p.m., at the Brookville Church of the Nazarene, 110 Evans St., Brookville, PA 15825. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018, also at the church, beginning at 11 a.m. and officiated by Pastor Ron Biddle. Interment will take place at the Knoxdale Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Knox Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.
