Stephen Waltman Obituary

Stephen Dale Waltman, 76 of Brookville, PA, formerly of Montgomery, PA, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025.

He was born May 19, 1948, in Muncy, PA, the son of George and Nancy (Greenly) Waltman.

Steve married Peggy Susan LaForme in Montgomery, PA, on August 10, 1968. Peg preceded him in death on February 10, 2012.

Stationed in Asmara, Ethiopia, during the Vietnam War, he proudly served in the US Army and was delighted to tell stories about his time in the desert with Peg by his side. Steve was an avid model railroader and loved watching trains of any shape or size. His amateur radio community will miss him, as KB3FPN has officially signed off the air.

Surviving are his daughter, Jill Waltman of Auburn, IL; two grandchildren, Jasmine and Jayden Brown; two siblings, Cindy (Donald) Edwards of Muncy, PA, and Craig Waltman of Williamsport, PA.

Cremation rites were accorded. There will be no viewing. Auburn friends and family will be received 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Auburn United Methodist Church. Interment of both Steve and Peg will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, August 8, 2025, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA. A memorial service will be scheduled for that weekend in the Montgomery, PA area.
