Mrs. Connie Barr age 83, of Statesville died Friday, Oct. 24, 2014 at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville. She was 83.
Mrs. Barr was born June 11, 1931 in Crumpler to Coleman and Ole Phipps Neaves.
Mrs. Barr was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond Cecil Barr; two sons, Roger Barr and Arthur Dean Barr; daughter, Shelby Sherrill; two brothers, Fred Neaves and Albert Neaves; two sisters, Hildredge Johnson and Kay Lyalls; two daughter in-laws, Paula Barr and Emma Barr.
Mrs. Barr is survived by three sons: Billie Barr and wife Kathy of Taylorsville, Raymond Barr and wife Vickey of Statesville and Charles Barr of Statesville; two daughters, Betty Sue Kurley and Ruth Foster and husband Mark, both of Statesville; two brothers, Paul Neaves and wife Arvie of Mobile, Ala. and John Neaves and wife Lil of Jefferson; three sisters: Janice Neaves of Statesville, Helen Asbury of Taylorsville and Ray Blevins and husband Howard of Sparta; also surviving are 34 grandchildren,41 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Barr loved to go to yard sales and flea markets. She loved having her family and friends around and loved watching TV.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014 at Greens Chapel by the Rev. Bobby Henderson and the Rev. Jimmy Eldreth. Burial will follow in Howell Hill Cemetery. The family received friends Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014 at Badger Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Monticello Baptist Church, 3603 Taylorsville Hwy., Statesville, NC 28625.
