Benjamin Lashbrook Obituary

CHARLESTON -- Benjamin E. Lashbrook, 88, of Charleston, passed away at 9:48 p.m. Thursday, December 16, 2004 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. A funeral service honoring his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at the Caudill-King Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Boaz officiating. Interment will be in Mound Cemetery, Charleston. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Ben was born March 26, 1916 at Charleston, son of Willis and Florence Dunifer Lashbrook. He married Maxine Beavers in 1934 at Toledo, Illinois; she died in 1990. Surviving is one son: Leroy Lashbrook of Charleston; two grandchildren: Leigh Ann Routh of Toano, VA and Amy Buxton of Casey; four sisters: Shirley Hintz of Stockton, IL, Joyce Morgan of Mineral, IL, Rosetta Mae Smith of St. Augustine, IL, and Pauline Paxton of Stockton, IL. Three great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Ben was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He retired from Brown Shoe Company in Charleston.
