Billy Hurst Obituary

CREST HILL - Billy F. Hurst, age 79, late of Crest Hill, Sunday January 25, 2009 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center. Born in Charleston, IL, living in Crest Hill for over 50 years. Retired from Dist. 86 after 20 years of service. Member of Caterpillar Retirees Club and was a US Army Korean War Veteran. Billy loved the Cub's, old Westerns, playing slots at Harrah's Casino, but most importantly his family and friends. Preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth "Betty" (Volaj), brothers Harold, Kenny, Russell and Daniel. Survived by his sisters Kenova Coppersmith of Chapel Hill, NC, Merna (Roy) Porter of Charleston, IL, and Verna (Ralph) Carter of Manchester, TN. Numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorials to American Heart Association would be appreciated. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 1:30 pm in the O'NEIL FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 1105 E. 9TH ST., LOCKPORT, with Rev. John Doyle, Pastor of St. Anne Church, Crest Hill officiating. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville. Visitation Thursday 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.
