Dorothy Hauss Obituary
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Hauss, in 2008 and a son, John David Hauss, in 1965, and a number of brothers and sisters.
Family members left with cherished memories include her daughters, Lee Ann Hauss, Landis and Carol H. Cable (Gene), of Salisbury; her son, William E. "Bubba" Hauss, III (Carol) of Salisbury; brothers, Charles Spry (Jackie), of Concord, Jerry Spry (Judy) of Landis , Wayne Spry of China Grove and her sister, Phyllis Spry, of China Grove; grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Cable, Samantha Lauren Cable and Luke Travis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday, November 22, 2013, from 3:00-5:00 and 6:00-8:00, at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove. Funeral services to remember and celebrate her life will be at 11:00 am Saturday, at First United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. George Yates. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, c/o the Building Fund or Music Department, 110 W. Church Street, China Grove, NC 28023.

Lee Ann, Carol and Bubba,
My heart goes out to each of you. Though we do not get to see each other much, the love your mother and father shared with me and my family is one we will never forget. You have my deepest sympathy. I can see Bill with open arms waiting on Dot singing away as she plays the piano. I know dad is right there with them. What wonderful memories they left for all of us to enjoy. My love goes out to you all. Please tell the girls and Luke I know their grandmother is extremely proud of them! God bless you all!

To the Hauss children and families: I am sorry to hear of your mother's passing. In addition to the vacancy it will leave in your own lives, it will also leave one in the community and church where she worked for many years for the betterment of the area and its citizens. May you find the peace that only the passing of time will offer you.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Dot's passing. Margaret Kurfees called me last night and told me. Dot has been a very big part of my life. The last time I saw her was when she was in Rowan Hospital the same time Dad was there not long before he passed on, 3 years ago last Friday. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers. I know Dot is with our Lord and Savior and Bill and there is a big reunion taking place..
Regretfully, I will not be able to return and attend the service, but I will remember all of the family and carry you in my heart.

Dot was a very sweet lady and always had a smile. She was always ready to help anyone. I enjoyed working with her when I was the Daycare Director at First United Methodist Church. I know she will be missed but never forgotten.
