Christopher Ciulla Obituary

Chris (Khrys) of Champaign, IL, and formerly of Paris, IL, was born at Paris Community Hospital on Nov. 6, 1977. He tragically and unexpectedly passed into spirit at 10 p.m. Sunday (7/16/06.) He was a Paris High School graduate, Illinois State Scholar, a University of Illinois President's Academic Scholarship recipient, talented musician-composer guitarist, athlete and a humanitarian with an excellent sense of humor. In the eighth grade he broke a 20 year Mayo Middle School record for the mile run and was on the PHS football, cross country and track teams. He played the sax for the PHS Marching Tigers Band. Chris enjoyed camping and being outdoors with Nature. He had chosen the "stage name" of Khryshna. Here are some quotes his parents found from a "bio" he had posted on a popular musician's website this past winter along with his last song, "The Long Way Home.": "Khryshna was raised in a small farm town. His parents are of the holy order of healers, and raised Khryshna in a very safe, and humble environment. They encouraged him in many different subjects, although he took a keen interest in music, sports and of course, girls. He has travelled the world, only to find that our home is where are hearts lay, and our hearts are inside us. We are all one and we are all connected by the lifeblood that is one me, the human race...No worries, no fear, no death, be yourself, be your heart, not your head. Sing, dance, be merry, love thy fellow man and woman, as you love yourself... Khryshna chooses to spell his name with the root word "khrys" which translates into "peace." ..."Be at peace, be one with the earth and with each other. This is the only way to love, the only way to heaven. May God he with you." He is survived by his parents, Dr. James and Wanda Ciulla of Paris; two brothers, James (Judy) Ciulla of Ogden; Satya(Nicole Watson) Ciulla of Wilmington, NC; maternal, grandparents, Francisco and Vilma Santos of New York, NY; cousins, Eva Frances (Renzo) Ventrella, and Christina (Harold) Alvarez; aunts, Cathy Arce and Eva Aponte. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Charlotte and Vincent Ciulla; paternal uncle, Kenneth Ciulla; and maternal uncles, Francisco Santos, Jr. and Sigfredo Santos; all originally from NY, NY. Visitation will be at Templeton Funeral Home, 600 E. Court St. in Paris, IL from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 30, with memorial services at 6 p.m. For those who wish, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Edgar County Humane Society in care of the funeral home.

Jim and Wanda,

There are no words to express the grief you must be feeling. I'm so sorry. Will ask the angels to give you peace. It seems like all of life is a battleground. If we are lucky we find buddies in the foxholes. At least you believe in a protecting God. Get some rest and take care of each other. Love you lots...Becky

We see a litle bird and it reminds us

That troubles can take wing and fly away

And in the fragrance of one perfect blossom

A special sweetness fills an ordinary day.
