I hoped to visit the family today, but I am just not sure that my health is good enough for me to be around others. I thought highly of Cletis and enjoyed all he has done for our S.A.R. chapter. I was blessed to have known Cletis.

Cletis was an inspiration in our Sons of the American Revolution Chapter. His willingness to take on tasks and his fine work as recording secretary helped this Chapter run smoothly. His personality made our meetings pleasant to attend. Also, it was great having a member who just might have been old enough to remember the Revolution!

What a genuinely nice man! Every time I would speak to him he would flash his infectious smile! Be comforted by the fact that he is in the best place ever and when your days on Earth are done, you will meet again!!

Mr Underwood was a teacher at my high school, York Community High School in Thomson, Il. which I attended from 1957 until graduating in 1961. I’m so sorry to hear of his passing. My condolences to Mrs. Underwood ( who was also one of my teachers during those years) and and their family. My maiden name was Frances McCormick.
