The truest words to describe Aunt Dorothy are that she was thoughtful, classy and a lady who loved her family more than anyone could.
Aunt Dorothy enjoyed working as a receptionist at Carle Clinic for over 35 years. Patients were greeted by her beautiful smile and witty personality. She truly loved working with people and always had a story to tell about her job. She had good friends in Champaign who she loved meeting for dinner or attending U of I football games to cheer on the "Fighting Illini".
Although she lived in Champaign, her home was Hindsboro and that is where she wanted to spend her weekends. Visiting with her parents and having coffee with "the boys" (her brothers) were the things she enjoyed most. Aunt Dorothy was proud of her big family and understood how unusual it is to find a family that truly enjoys being together and laughing with one another. On any given weekend, you could find the family gathered around drinking coffee and telling stories. Her family was very special to her.
Memorials may be made to the Hindsboro Civic Center.
