Edna Cox Obituary

CHARLESTON - Edna Jane (Pierce) Cox, 92, of Charleston, passed away Monday, April 16, 2012 at Hilltop Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The graveside funeral honoring her life will be held at 2:15 Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Roselawn Cemetery, Charleston, with Pastor Mike Southards officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Caudill-King Funeral Home. Edna was born November 25, 1919 in Moran, Kansas, daughter of Charles and Winette (Kerr) Pierce. She married Raymond O. Cox in 1936. They had been married 75 years, when he passed away December 16, 2011. She is survived two sons: Ronald R. (Dee) Cox of Bingham, IL and Dan L. (Carol) Cox of Pipe Creek, TX. Eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and twelve great-great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother: Charles Pierce, and her sister: Ruth Hood. Edna was a member of First Christian Church. She loved to attend church, singing, sewing, and quilting. She retired from Brown Shoe Company.

To Ron and Danny,I am so sorry to learn of Ednas passing. She was a sweeet lady. We spent a lot of good times at each others home. My folks (Dale and Elma Pinkston) from Assumption thought highly of both Raymond and Edna. Thank God for precious memories.
