Leland Nunamaker Obituary

Leland Perry Nunamaker

July 22, 1960 - March 1, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Leland "Perry" Nunamaker, who left us peacefully in his sleep on March 1, 2025 at the age of 64. Born on July 22, 1960, Perry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Perry is survived by his loving wife Kim Schnell-Nunamaker, his mother Carolyn Nunamaker, and brother Todd Nunamaker. He is preceded by his father, Kent Nunamaker whom he loved so much, and his oldest brother Ken Nunamaker. He was a proud father to Jeni, Lauren, Kaylee, Clinton, Shelby, and bonus-son Brad Davis. He was a cherished grandfather to many and was able to share his time with Maverick, Eliana, Maya, Zaleah, Autumn, and Kimma.

A skilled home-builder and carpenter by trade, Perry was a true craftsman. His love for building things extended beyond work and into his personal life. Whether it was a home project or a new creation in the garage, Perry's hands were always busy. He also held the title of "certified unchecked comedian"a role he embraced fully. With an endless supply of long-winded jokes and stories, Perry was known for never leaving out a detail, and for his ability to land a story with impeccable timing. His charisma, charm, and deep love for life made every conversation a memorable experience.

Perry was passionate about the outdoors whether hunting, fishing, or simply enjoying a ride on his beloved Farmall H tractor, he always found peace in nature. He had the memory of an elephant, recalling both the smallest details and the biggest moments of his life with ease.

Though Perry is no longer with us, his legacy lives on through his family, friends, and all the countless memories he created. In his honor, there will be a Celebration of Life at Perry and Kim's house in the spring, where we will gather to celebrate a life that was full and now at peace. For further details, please reach out to Kim. He will be deeply missed but his spirit never forgotten.

Carolyn and I have been friends for the last 50 some years.
When we lived in Mattoon, my girls were always ready to join Ken, Perry, and Todd in their swimming pool in the country!
Perry will be so missed by his family.
My condolences to Carolyn, Todd, and Perry´s wife, children, and grandchildren.
