Marina Yefimova Obituary

MATTOON -- Marina Yefimova, age 53, of Mattoon passed away at 6:31 a.m., Saturday, May 12, 2007, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana after a long courageous battle with cancer. The funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Marina was born February 10, 1954 in Moscow, Russia, the daughter of Nicolai Gorbunov and Galina Mayorova. They survive and currently reside in Moscow, Russia. She married Igor Shmukler on March 6, 1981 in Domodedovo, Russia. He also survives. Other survivors include one son, Symon Shmukler of Mattoon and one sister, Oksana Pulunina of Moscow, Russia. Marina was a member of the Russian Orthodox Church. She had been employed as a hair stylist at Pacesetters Salon in Mattoon and Great Clips in Charleston. Marina enjoyed cooking, sewing and knitting.
