Marsha Ann True, age 66, of Mattoon, passed away on December 15, 2025 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Schilling Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Marsha was born on August 26, 1959 in Mattoon, the daughter of Grant and Rosalee (Wright) Fleenor. She married Jerry Lee True on December 6, 1975 at the First United Methodist Church in Mattoon. They recently celebrated 50 years of marriage.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry True of Mattoon, IL; daughters, April Stephens of Mattoon, IL, Amy True (George Tucker) of Mattoon, IL, and Angela Cortez and son-in-law, Alex of Humboldt, IL; grandchildren, Larry (Danielle), Jacob, Dalton, Adam (Makenzy), and bonus grandchild, Kelsey; great-grandchildren, Avery, Rylynn, Brynlee, Delaney, Landrie, and Jersey; sisters-in-law, Ruth Ann Fleenor and Jill (Jeff) Farrell; brother-in-law, Jeff (Susan) True; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved boxer, Buster.

Marsha was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, David, Tom and Bob Fleenor.

Marsha began her career with the City of Mattoon in 1997 and was quickly promoted to Deputy City Clerk, faithfully serving until her retirement in 2022. Marsha gave generously of her time as a volunteer treasurer for the American Cancer Society, helped with Bagelfest, and served on numerous community committees. She found joy in bowling and swimming, but her greatest joy was found during the holidays, while spending time with her loved ones. Marsha was truly the heart of her family, and her kindness, commitment, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
