Max Pierce
MATTOON - Max Earl Pierce, 84, of Mattoon, passed away at 6:45 a.m. on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. Funeral Services honoring his life will be held on Friday, December 10, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at the Schilling Funeral Home, 1301 Charleston Ave., Mattoon. Burial will follow in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 a.m. till time of service at the funeral home. Max was born on June 11, 1926 in Sullivan, Indiana the son of Joseph and Ginny (Smith) Pierce. He married Donna M. Strohl on December 29, 1950. Survivors include his wife Donna Mae of Mattoon; his sons Terry Kovacik and wife Debbie of Mattoon, Dan Pierce and wife Lucia of Palm Bay Florida, Gary Pierce of Suwanee, Georgia and his daughter Sandy Turner of Mattoon and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister. Memorials in his honor are suggested to his family.
