William "Bill" Mineo

CHARLESTON -- A memorial service for William L. (Bill) Mineo was 11 a.m. Saturday at Adams Funeral Chapel with Rev. Phil Nevius officiating. Eulogies were given by a son, Gordon Mineo, a stepdaughter, Toni Trumper and a grandson, Jay Todd Mineo. Military Rites were conducted by the Honor Guard of Veterans of Foreign Wars Paul McVey Post 1592 of Charleston. Participating Honor Guard members were Richard Irby, Detail Commander; Bob Woodyard, Chaplain; Jim Hood, Flag Detail; Boyd Bridges and Owen Stanfield, Color Guard; and Henry Bough and Pete Ogden, Color Bearers. The service concluded with a dove release by a granddaughter, Lindsey Trumper. Musical selections included the "Air Force Hymn", "Stardust" and "I'll Fly Away". Mr. Mineo, 86, of Charleston, died July 30, 2004 at his home.
