Charles Don Smith

Mr. Charles Smith, of Harrisburg, Arkansas, departed this life Thursday, October 16, 2025, at his home, at the age of 78. He was born October 12, 1947, in Trumann, Arkansas, the son of the late Alvin and Eloise Burrows Smith. Charles began working very early in life and worked mainly in the construction field. He worked for Atlas Asphalt in Jonesboro for many years. He married Margie Ann Crumley in 1967, and they enjoyed 51 years before her death in 2018. He enjoyed tinkering on lawn mowers and loved fishing and rabbit hunting when he could. In his later years, his passion in life became spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by 6 brothers, Roger Smith, James Smith, W.L. Smith, Jimmy Smith, Sonny Smith, and Wayne Smith. He is survived by one son, Ronnie Smith (Stephanie) of Oklahoma, one daughter, Paula Tucker (Steve) of Harrisburg, 2 sisters, Lily Chandler (Bob) of Harrisburg, and Patti Seymore (Bruce) of bee Branch, AR, 6 grandchildren, Tyler Allison, Mallorie Martindale, Sam Smith, Gabbie Smith, Mark Smith, and Harleigh Simmons, and 6 great grandchildren, Grayson Petefish, John Allen Allison, Annabella Allison, Geneva Edmond, Waylon Smith and Violet Smith. All arrangements have been entrusted to Gregg-Weston Funeral Home of Harrisburg. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 19th, at the Gregg-Weston Funeral home Chapel in Harrisburg with Ray Smith and Bob Chandler officiating. Interment will follow in Harrisburg Memorial Park. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday, 5:00-7:00 p.m. Pallbearers will include Kelly Smith, Marcus Smith, Jason Summer, Richard Sanders, Timmy Kirkland, and Robert Hervey. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Smith, Teddy Stotts, Jeremy Tucker, Zach Martindale and Jaime Smith.
