Doris Harvey Obituary

Doris Jean Harvey, 80, of Dixie, AR, passed to her heavenly home on September 6, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born to Delbert "Jack" Weaver and Gladys Weaver (Austin) on January 8, 1945 in Arkansas. She was of the Baptist faith, attending Dixie Baptist Church. Doris worked at Darling Store Fixtures in Paragould for 41 years until retirement. There she was a welder and shop stewardess where she helped grieve for the rights of fellow employees and was very proud of that position. Doris was on a women's bowling team for many years and won numerous trophies. She also enjoyed working her flower beds, yard selling on Saturdays, playing dominos, and having date night with her husband. Downtime meant stretching out on the couch with a good book. Doris is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 42 years, JB Havery; son, James Griffin; grandson, Ryan Griffin; granddaughter, Andrea Griffin; brothers, Ray and Ronnie Weaver; sisters, Joyce Robinson and Lou Varvel. Doris is survived by her son, Bobby Griffin; daughter, Christine Cox; and great grandson, Brantley Griffin (whom she thought more of as a son); her lifelong friend, Dale George; granddaughter, Lindsi (Brett) Bollenbach; great-grandchildren, Waylyn, Jessie, Gracelynn, Jaley, Jorjia, and Jace; and many other family and friends. There will be a memorial service held at Reynolds Park Pavillion in Paragould on September 27, 2025, at 1:00 pm. Please consider donating to the American Cancer Society or the COPD Foundation.
